Create a new document in Highland. Select the New button from the Welcome Screen or by selecting File > New (⌘Command + N).
Just start typing. Seriously, just type. Leave a blank line between paragraphs.
Writing dialogue? Type the character’s name in UPPERCASE. Then press return once and write what they say directly underneath their name. Highland will format this as dialogue.
If you have Live Margins turned on, Highland will automatically show you the indented text in the Editor.
You never need to hit the Tab key. Just Return.
Need a parenthetical? Put it in parentheses.
Highland automatically recognizes scene headers like INT. and EXT. Highland recognizes transitions like CUT TO: and automatically right-aligns them for you.
